A hard disk

(computer hardware) One of a series of parallel magnetic recording disks in a drive unit, used for the recording and retrieval of digital information; used especially in personal computers.

(medicine) The disease acromegaly. / (medicine) The disease hypertrophic pulmonary osteoarthropathy.

(pathology) Any of a group of diseases characterized by the pathological limitation of airflow in the airway that is not fully reversible. May be caused by reactive airways, chronic infection, congenital defects, or, most commonly, cigarette smoking. Generally does not include neoplasms, which could also obstruct airways.

(astronomy) A rotating disk of dense gas and dust surrounding a young newly formed star, and from which planets may be formed.
