A hydrometer scale on which the zero point corresponds to a specific gravity of 1.00, and the 30° point to a specific gravity of 0.85. From these points the scale is extended both ways, all the degrees being of equal length.

A scale devised by Alfred Kinsey, used to measure a person's sexuality, ranging from 0 (exclusively heterosexual) to 6 (exclusively homosexual), passing through different stages of bisexuality, including the 3 in the middle (bisexual, attracted to men and women equally).
