She looked at some apples, turned a few over, took a whiff of some others, but just couldn't make up her mind which to buy — it was as though her whole fate depended on it. She finally spied some golden ones with the fragrance of champagne — smooth round Antonovkas. And above them was the smiling, golden face of a Korean farmer.
