The proposition that one's soul is composed of three parts: ψυχή (psukhḗ, “psyche”) is composed of three parts; the λογιστικός (logistikós, “logical”), the θυμοειδές (thumoeidés, “spirited”) and the ἐπιθυμητικόν (epithumētikón, “appetitive”).
