mycophenolate mofetil

(pharmacology) A prodrug of mycophenolic acid, classified as a reversible inhibitor of inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase. It is an immunosuppressant combined with drugs such as ciclosporin and corticosteroids to prevent organ rejection after hepatic, renal, and cardiac transplants.
