Looked at narrowly, from the point of view of the jostling for place endemic in institutions, national-level decision-makers who take part in comitological deliberation by difference are likely to encourage or at least tolerate similar methods domestically because the domestic exercise increases the range of experience they can bring to bear on EU-wide discussion, and thus the authority with which they speak.
