A House of Commons Early Day Motion was submitted by Labour MP Ian Mearns and five other opposition MPs on January 8, praising station staff and condemning what they describe as an increasing trend by government to reduce and casualise station staff which they believe is leading to de-staffing of stations and the closure of ticket offices.
