Tourism planning under a boosterist tradition is more concerned with how to attract more tourists to a specific destination and it assumes a simplistic assumption that tourism development is generally 'good' and beneficial for a destination and its inhabitants. A boosterist approach emphasizes the ability to forecast the demand mainly for the purposes of tourism development and promotion (Hall, 2008).
