To date, several approaches have been used to address scarring of the vocal folds, including medialization laryngoplasty procedures [3 –6 ], mucosa grafting [7 ], the use of angiolytic lasers [8 ], and tissue engineering [9 –11 ] involving cell delivery, growth factors, and pharmacological agents.
