Newly developed biomarkers (MNi: micronuclei; NPBs: nucleoplasmic bridges; NBUDs: nuclear buds) in the cytokinesis-blocked micronucleus cytome assay were used to detect chromosomal damage, showing that 1,3-butadiene exposed workers have increased frequencies of MNi and NPBs compared to control subjects.
