This Church was given to the newfounded College of St. Mary's at Leicester, and in year 1416 it was by Henry Bowet, Archbishop, appropriated to the Dean and Canons of the same, reserving to himself and successors 20s per annum, and to the Dean and Chapter 6s. 8d. to be paid by the said College, as also 20s. per annum to the poor of the parish; the Vicar to have the same maintenance that the former Vicars used to have.
