[The City of Guaxaca] may conſiſt of at the moſt two thouſand Inhabitants, and are governed by a Spaniſh High Juſtice called Alcalde Major, whoſe power reacheth over all the Valley, and beyond it as farre as Nixapa, and almoſt to Tecoantepeque, a Sea Towne upon Mar del Zur.
