Japanese interaction with Santiniketan dates back to the year 1902 with the arrival of the above-mentioned Shitoku Hori. Subsequently, in 1905, Jinnosuke Sano, an ex-student of Keio University, arrived in Santiniketan. He was the jujutsu teacher.
