(face, incapacity, speech problems, extreme emergency): A mnemonic for diagnosing a cerebrovascular accident (“CVA”) or stroke. The mnemonic V-I-T-E also was coined in recognition of the word vite (“quickly”), as a need for speedy diagnosis and treatment.
